6 Delicious Kid-Friendly Seafood Recipes You Can Try Today

I usually prepare kid-friendly seafood recipes at least once per week. Can you believe that my kids always ask for more? The truth is, seafood is not only incredibly delicious but also fast and easy to prepare. Therefore, I always feel surprised when I hear someone say that their kids hate fish, shrimp, and anything from the water. What most people don’t realize is that there are so many ways to prepare seafood; there sure is something that will please even the most picky kids. 1. Oven-fried Fish Nuggets

Fresh fish fillets get brushed with a mixture of bread crumbs and cheese. Incorporate some butter-flavored spray to make the aroma even more alluring to your kids.

Ingredients:

  • Fresh fish fillets (1 pound), cut into 1.5 inch nuggets
  • 1/2 cup of Italian bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup of cornflake crumbs
  • 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to 370-400oF.

Step 2

Spray a cookie sheet with the butter-flavored spray.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large avocado with seed removed (7.1 oz)
  • 2 small cooked salmon fillets (6.2 oz)
  • 1 small, finely chopped white onion, (2.5 oz)
  • 1/4 cup of soured cream (2 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
  • Some salt
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil or ghee
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped dill
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to about 400oF

Step 2

Place the salmon fillets on a baking tray that’s lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle some olive oil or melted ghee over the salmon. Season with pepper and salt and a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice, and place the baking tray in the oven. Bake for about 20 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of spinach and kale mixture
  • 1 medium-size cucumber
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • Uncooked shrimp 0.5 lb.
  • 2 minced cloves garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/8 teaspoon of chipotle pepper powder and another 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder
  • Coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini
  • 1/3 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 teaspoon of minced ginger
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1

Heat the coconut oil in a pan over medium heat.

Step 2

Add the clean shrimp and minced garlic. Add the old bay, chipotle, and cayenne seasoning. Cook them until you notice a pinky peach color, and then remove the pan from the heat.

Place the spinach and kale mix in different bowls, and add some chopped cucumber. Also, add some chopped avocado and the lime juice to the mixture. Now chop up the shrimp and add it to the mixture.

4. Salmon with Creamy Spinach and Hollandaise Sauce

The first time I prepared this dish, I was having my sister’s kids over for dinner. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if they’d like it. I was waiting for their typical “oh gross!” response. Boy was I wrong! They even asked for more.

Ingredients:

  • 1 little salmon or trout fillet (4.4 oz)
  • 1/2 large packet of frozen or fresh spinach (4.4 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut milk or heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons of ghee, extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil
  • 1 serving of Hollandaise sauce
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • Some salt

Instructions:

Step 1

Preheat the oven to about 400oF. Put the salmon in a baking tray and sprinkle with half of the ghee, extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil. Add some pepper and salt, place in the oven, and cook for about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, prep the creamy spinach by washing it and placing it in a salad spinner to remove excess water (you could also pat dry with a paper towel).

5. Chipotle Fish Tacos

Why purchase fish tacos when you can easily make them at home? The best thing is, you can use any kind of white fish. Take whatever is on sale.

Method:

Step 1

Fry the onions in a saucepan over medium heat for about 5 minutes. Reduce the heat a bit and add the garlic and jalapeño, and let them cook for an additional 3 minutes while stirring. Add the adobo sauce.

Ingredients:

  • Miracle Noodle Angel Hair (1 bag)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 lemon
  • Raw shrimp (1 pound)
